Douglas County 4-H Projects
A basic principle of the 4-H program is that learning occurs best through direct experience. There are over 60 project areas available, including Dogs, Horses, Livestock, Electricity, Rabbits, Clothing, Knitting, Foods, Leadership, Model Rockets, Poultry, Woodworking, Wildlife, Shooting Sports, Photography, Entomology, and Gardening (to name a few) where each child can find an area of personal interest. Douglas County Fair
The fair provides youth with the opportunity to showcase their projects.
Info Sessions about 4-H at Fair:
- 4-H 201 ~ Intro to all things Douglas County Fair!
- Tuesday April 14th 6-8pm in Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds
- Introduction any and all things Fair related! No matter if you are a general project kid, livestock, first year member, or 15 year veteran.
- 4-H 202 ~ Animal & Livestock Families
- Tuesday May 12th 6-8pm in Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds
- A deep dive into the logistics of having animals at Fair and more information about the livestock sale.
- 4-H 203 ~ General and Consumer Science Families
- Wednesday, May 19th 6-8pm in Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds
- Detailed information on Exhibit Day, the ribboning process & how to be prepared for Exhibit Displays.
