2021″Super Saturday” is back and better than ever! Please join us on Saturday, April 24th!

Registration is due to the Douglas County Extension Office by Wednesday, April 7 at 5pm.

There will be two Q&A sessions for members who have questions about Super Saturday Contests. They will be hosted by Nicole Speeding, Douglas County 4-H Agent. Please contact nicole.speeding@colostate.edu for the Zoom links to these sessions.

Cake Decorating Contest

  • What: Members decorate a cake in the allotted time and are judged as they do so. Winners in each age group and event are eligible to compete at the Colorado State Fair contest. Members must be enrolled in the cake decorating project to participate.
  • When: Saturday, April 24th, 2021, Check in: 8am
  • Where: Douglas County Fairgrounds, Kirk Hall
  • Who: All 4-H members, ages 5-18 years old.

Creative Cooks Contest

  • What: Members select a theme and prepare a menu, food, a table setting and an outfit around that theme (outfit optional). They use their knowledge of nutrition, meal planning, and food preparation in a creative way. Awards program follows the contest. Winners in each age group and event are eligible to compete at the Colorado State Fair contest. Any 4-H member can participate.
  • When: Saturday, April 24th, 2021, Check in: 8am

  • Who: All 4-H members, ages 5-18 years old.

Speech & Demo Contest

  • What: Opportunity for 4-H members to practice their public speaking skills through speeches, demonstrations and other activities. Individuals or teams can give demonstrations. Speeches are to be written by the 4-H member, and members can speak on any subject relating to 4-H. Use of visual aids is strongly recommended for demonstrations only. Older 4-H winners in horse relating speech arts and extemporaneous speeches are eligible to compete at the state contest held during the State 4-H Conference in June. Other demonstrations or illustrated talk winners are able to participate by age in the State Contest at the Colorado State Fair.

For speech & demo contests some of these contests winners qualify to attend State Conference in Fort Collins in June of 2021 (if they are seniors) and some winners qualify to attend State Fair in Pueblo in August of 2021.  Please read below for more information.
