
It’s Flower Time
Every year, CSU Extension partners with the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo for a county wide agriculture and floriculture contest and show! 2026 features America and Colorado 250/150 exhibits, Colorado Proud produce, and “native plants–the past and present of gardening in Douglas County”.
Come see the flower show during the fair, and don’t forget to attend the live judging at 2pm on July 30. If you’re ready to compete in the World Cup of Horticulture (at least in Douglas County)…

- Wednesday, July 29 @ 5:00-8:00pm
- Thursday, July 30, @7:00am-11:30am
At the Douglas County Fairgrounds, James R. Sullivan Event Center, 500 Fairgrounds Road, Castle Rock, Co.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a new green thumb, we await your entry this year. Use the resources within CSU Extension to start growing your open class competitors. Volunteers are available regularly to assist you with questions you have about horticulture topics and would be thrilled to help those excited about growing for the open class contests.
